Resistance Training is a widely practiced physical activity all over the world, presenting very clear objectives such as: increasing of fat free mass, optimization of muscular strength and improvement of life quality. Besides, it?s an important element on the preparation of almost all the high performance athletes. Under the Muscle Resistance Training Principles, the Body Building or Weight Training is one of the most efficient mechanisms on the induction of physiological responses to the exercise. The aim of this revision study was to search for the main physiological responses for the Resistance Training. The approach of the consulted studies allows affirming that the great contradiction of results observed is related, among other causes, to the high adaptative capacity of the muscle cell, to the characteristics of the studied populations and to the several variables of control of the applied training. However, the Resistance Training work turns out to be a rich and safe activity which is able to induct chronic and acute responses, wide and distinct physiologically, assisting several objectives and populations. |
