Public educational system in São Paulo state in 1983 - Abstract

The paper analyses articles and documents that in the year of 1983 anticipated and prepared the implantation of First Cycle (“Ciclo Básico”) in the public educational system in Sao Paulo State. This analysis is part of a research in development. The major aim of this research is to characterize the process of adoption of constructivism as the official pedagogical discourse by the Secretariat of Public Education in Sao Paulo State for more than 25 years. The documental analysis of gestation of First Cycle in the year of 1983 shows that were already presents in that moment the elements of the pedagogical discourse which has been largely divulgated during 25 years and had contributed for the configuration of public school in Sao Paulo State by the statements from the “pedagogies of learning to learn”.
