In the following work, we intend to bring some light to the discussion about tradition in afro-brasillian cultural manifestations, in special in the Capoeira. It has been perceived, in some of these manisfestations, some issues related to the different degree of interest shown for one tradition in despise of the others, and now we try to find out what means to be traditiotional, and how it does affect the world we live in. We tracked back for historical aspects about Capoeira's very origin, circa XIX century, to raise questions about the so called "Institutionalisation", which founded traditions early in the XX century and played a very important role in the way the perspective of the Capoeira has changed ever since. Trying to find etnical parallels, we compared Capoeira with others manifestations which supposely would share the same african origins. Following the analysis of academic material, we looked into the discuss of the Capoeiras in order to find convergences and discrepances between both sources. The etnical roots of the Capoeira may remain obscure, but all the tradition discussion is open for analysis, reflections and propositions. |
