> Resumo  > Abstract
The study aims to compare the variables of attack and finishing, among the categories U-15 and adult, on games of the Brazilian Championship of State Teams, in 2005. The sample consisted of 20 games, 10 U-15 and 10 adult. Data collection was performed using a spreadsheet of observation, analyzing the number and effectiveness of attack, and also the number and effectiveness of finishing, depending on the 3 offensive game parameters: organized game, set plays and counter attacks. Data was analyzed through the usage of tools from the statistical software SPSS for Windows ® version 11.0, for average ( ), standard deviation (SD) and percentage (%). When comparing the two groups, we used the unpaired T-test. For all the comparing tests, we assumed a significance level of p <0.05. The results showed that the number of attacks and finishes were higher in the adult category, but the number of goals scored was lower. It is clear that there was a significant difference in the effectiveness of attack, where the Under-15 category had a number of 3.72%, against 1.94% of the Adult category, and also in the effectiveness of completion, where the Under-15 category had 11, 69% and the Adult category 6.27%. In the analysis of the form of attack used for finishing, there was no significant difference, however it was found that the majority of offensive moves were organized/set plays in both categories. On the effectiveness of finishing, there was only one significant difference, which was in the set-pieces, where the Under-15 category had values of 14.31, and the Adult category average of 4.28. It was concluded that there were significant differences in some parameters of the study, noting the differences between U-15 and games.
