The construction of the body sportsman brincante - Abstract

The life history of Dario José dos Santos, ex-soccer player, together with some interviews with some others social actors, such as ex-soccer players, coaches, journalists who reported on Dario, as will as the analysis of various sorts of audiovisual materials and other documentary sources have served as basic reference to the understanding of the actions of the professional soccer players in the light of literature on play. This methodological articulation revealed the Brazilian soccer as being a field where many social, economical, political and cultural interests are put together, and a scenery where the movements of conformism and sociocultural resistance are interlaced allowing it various subjects to carry out varied roles. Darios’s life as a sportsman made clear the possibility of existing the playing experience in the daily life of the soccer professional and shows us the revolutionary and transforming potential of the professional sports as his actions were based mainly on his pleasure of playing soccer, his respect for the others people limits, his creative for the collective construction of the moves in the games, as will as his joy of making people laugh and celebrate.
