Creativity in high level volleyball players - Abstract

The objective of the study was to analyze the creativity, in volleyball players' view. A questionnaire was applied in 29 volleyball players in the high level competition (Brazilian’s Superliga). The analysis of data was, predominantly, qualitative. The results showed that creative player's characteristic main was the capacity to create alternatives and variations of plays. The creative player'spersonality was associated with intelligence, reasoning, courage and audacity. For development of creativity, it was proposed the training the cognitive capacities and the solution of problems. To conclude, the concept of the players' creativity is more associated with the cognitive theory. Some differences significant were detected between genders.
