This research analyzes future physical education teachers speeches concerning sexual diversity, and more specifically homosexuality. A qualitative research was carried out by using a questionnaire and the screening of an educative video followed by a discussion with some students on the ideas shown in the video. First, a brief review of the main ideas by Foucault was carried through, focusing how such ideas can helpful for researches concerning the speeches on homosexuality in the academic environment. Homosexuality has become a subject in a specific historical period, and it comes from the study of sexuality. Thus, one should analyze what are the speeches concerning the subject, and what strategies, effects, and resistances regarding sexuality have been established since then. Sexuality speeches are part of social and individual construction. They are in every aspect of social life, and they are limited and ruled in different manners in different social spaces. In scholar spaces they are regulated , among other means, by teachers´ actions. In this specific case physical education classes are focused, and it is fundamental to pay attention to the function they have inside society, by understanding how Physical Education as a knowledge area interferes in the construction of students´ subjectivity inside scholar space, concerning both physical education speeches and the speeches on regulated sexuality. |
