Memory places: histories of modern sport - Abstract

This text aims to highlight the historical research as a possibility of narrating and analyzing modern sport. For that, it analyzes the relation between memory and history, as well as the link of this cultural phenomenom with tradition and with spectacle. In the end, it casts a series of “memory places” existing in Brazil, which collections are important sources of investigation and research.
